Who Qualifies for Financial Aid:

Students who demonstrate financial need, educational requirements, be a U.S. Citizen or eligible noncitizen, and register for the selective service if you are a male.

Deadline: To apply for FAFSA or Dream Act you must submit online application between January 1st and March 2nd of Senior year (12th Grade) in high school. This is the priority deadline for consideration for the CAL Grants and other institutional awards.
 

How do I apply :

Step 1: Request a PIN for student and one of your parents (Choose only one parent. Preferably the head of household) www.pin.ed.gov

Step 2: Collect Financial info for you and your parents:

1. 2013 or 2014 Federal Taxes

2. Any Untaxed-income records

3. TAN , Social Security, general assistance

4. Other income – i.e. Child support (paid or received)

5. Business homes, land

6. Your Social Security #, Or Alien Registration Number*(Student cannot file without this #)

Step 3: SUBMITJ

Who Qualifies for Dream Act:

Allows non-U.S. citizens to receive financial assistance from the state of California. Student must meet AB540 criteria.

Deadline: To apply for FAFSA or Dream Act you must submit online application between January 1st and March 2nd of Senior year (12th Grade) in high school. This is the priority deadline for consideration for the CAL Grants and other institutional awards.

What is AB540:

Allows qualifying undocumented (non-legal citizens or residents) students to pay for California in-state tuition.

To qualify, students must meet the following criteria: attend a California high school for 3 years or more, graduate from a California high school or receive the equivalent (GED), and submit an affidavit (California Nonresident Tuition Exemption Request Form) to the admissions office of their college or university.

Step 2: Collect Financial info for you and your parents:

2013 or 2014 Federal Taxes
Any Untaxed-income records
Other income – i.e. Child support (paid or received)
Business homes, land
DACA # (if applicable)

Step 3: Request a PIN for student and one of your parents (Choose only one parent. Preferably the head of household.)
